The film itself doesn't. It seals in heat and moisture, so the mud stays active on your skin for the full 45 minutes and the actives have time to work. Without film, the mud dries out quickly and does far less. Ordinary kitchen cling film works perfectly.

GUAM seaweed is naturally rich in iodine. The 2024 clinical study found no interference with thyroid activity, but please check with your doctor before starting if you have a thyroid condition, take thyroid medication or have an iodine allergy.

Test a small amount on your inner arm 24 hours before your first wrap and check for any redness or itching. Don't apply to broken, irritated or sunburned skin. If your skin is reactive, check the full ingredient list on the product page first.

None were reported in the 2024 clinical study of 60 women. Mild warmth or a light tingling during a wrap is normal and fades after rinsing. If you feel burning, itching or a rash, rinse off with lukewarm water and stop using the product.
